Primping the Kitchen

Primping.  It's all about lookin' and feelin' good, getting ready for a night on the town or a date with your man.  In my new life, primping just isn't what it used to be.  It used to be a solid hour spent in front of the bathroom mirror, with my make-up all over the counter, my second glass of wine going down easy, and my iPod on shuffle.  Now, it's five minutes each morning: a dab of lipgloss and some bronzer, followed by a chug of whatever caffeinated beverage I can get my hands on.  Sound familiar?

I have decided to make Monday evenings my 'Primping the Kitchen' nights.  It's going to be a time for me to get lost in music, have a relaxing glass of wine, and do all of my baking/baking prep for the week ahead.  Not exactly something I am used to, and since tonight will be the maiden voyage of this venture, I'll be able to tweak it to suit future needs.  For now, I am planning on getting a nice glass of chardonnay and my iPod on shuffle, as well as my baking supplies...after the kids are settled in bed and my husband is settled in front of the hockey game, of course!

I am still learning how to be a 'housewife' and 'stay-at-home mom', so my cooking skills are lacking.  Also, as a single-income family, we are newly learning how to live on a tight budget.  The recipes you will find on my Recipes Page are not only super easy, but they are perfect for a frugal family.  Tonight's ventures include: Drop Biscuits (I am going to put the dough into ziploc bags and then into the fridge, so I can bake them as I need them during the week) as well as my Mom's recipe for Pumpkin Pillow Cookies, which are great for my toddler's snack time and my husbands lunch box.

Enjoy!
